Background:
Tiffanie Tate is a retired U.S. Navy officer, former obstetrician–gynecologist, author, and ordained minister. She is also the author of four published books and a radio talk show co-host
Public Safety Platform:
Tate does not offer a public safety platform on her campaign website, but states that she supports the Second Amendment and is a registered firearm owner. She supports housing, mental health services, and recovery programs for the homeless.
While her policies are unclear, the incumbent in this race is an active opponent to justice reform; therefore, IJ Action recommends voters support Tate as the Harm Reduction candidate.

Background:
Senator Seyarto served in the Assembly from 2020-2022 and was then elected to the Senate. For most of his time in the Senate, he has served on the Public Safety Committee and has been a vocal opponent of any justice reform. He has earned an “F” on our Legislative Scorecard for all three years that we have been reviewing legislators’ voting records.
Public Safety Platform:
On his campaign website, Seyarto promises to give law enforcement “the tools they need” and roll back Democratic justice reforms. He was a vocal supporter of Prop 36 in 2024, which increased criminal penalties for minor offenses.
