Background:
Assemblymember Ransom was elected in 2024 after serving as a Congressional District Director and Tracy City Councilmember. In her first term in the Assembly, she earned a “C” on our Legislative Scorecard, neglecting to support SB 627, which banned ICE agents from wearing masks, and AB 1231, which would have expanded division programs in the state. Conversely, she has also authored AB 2259, a good bill to expand mental health opportunities for people incarcerated in state prisons.
Public Safety Platform:
Assemblymember Ransom does not list her policy platform on her campaign website. However, she does state that she is “ A founding board member of the Tracy Police Activities League and the Tracy Community Homelessness Task Force” and “Over the years, she has earned the endorsement of the San Joaquin County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, San Joaquin County Corrections Officers Association and Manteca Police Officers Association.” She does not list her endorsements.
