Assemblymember Jackson was elected to the State Assembly in 2022 after serving two years on the Riverside County Board of Education.

Background:
Ed Delgado holds more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement, beginning with 10 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, including four years on active duty and six in the reserves. After leaving the military, he joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and rose to the rank of Assistant Sheriff, where he oversaw the county’s Corrections Division.
Delgado was elected to the Moreno Valley City Council in 2021. He participates on the Public Safety Committee for the League of California Cities, focusing on policies related to public safety and community security. He is also a graduate of the American Jail Association’s Jail Command Academy and a Certified Jail Manager.
Public Safety Platform:
Delgado claims he has seen criminals benefit from the “soft on crime” laws in California, and one of his main policy goals is implementing stricter punishments. He is endorsed by several law enforcement organizations and the Sheriffs of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.

Ron Edwards is a veteran, small business owner, and licensed minister with decades of experience in federal government, union leadership, community service, and youth leadership. He has also been active in local Republican Party leadership and school choice advocacy in Riverside County.

Edwards describes public safety as a top priority, and emphasizes “law and order” in order to avoid confusion and ensure safety, security, and social justice. He promises to be tough on crime, fund the police, stop vagrancy, and implement drug treatment centers. He also promotes strong military and secure borders.
