Background:

Assemblymember Soria is a current Assemblymember now running for State Senate. Since joining the Assembly in 2022 she has failed to support meaningful reform measures, earning an “F” on IJ Action’s Legislative Scorecard for the last 3 years in a row. Furthermore she has also authored multiple criminalization bills, including AB 1960 in 2024 to re-establish harsh enhancements for property damage.

She was a Fresno City Council Member for seven years prior to running for Assembly.

Public Safety Platform:

While Assemblymember Soria does not have a public safety platform on her campaign website, she does voice her support for police, listing one of her accomplishments in office as “ensuring law enforcement has the tools needed to keep our neighborhoods safe.”

Soria is also endorsed by several law enforcement agencies, including the Peace Officers Research Association of CA (PORAC) and the Fresno Sheriff’s Association.
