- Background:
Eduardo “Lalo” Vargas is a science teacher, community organizer, and former volunteer firefighter. After the 2025 Palisades and Altadena fires, he organized to help provide aid to families who had lost their homes.
- Public Safety Platform:
Running his campaign as a socialist, Vargas advocates for many progressive insurance policy reforms such as abolishing private insurance companies and creating a public insurer, establishing universal healthcare, and freezing insurance rate hikes.
While these are values shared by IJ Action, Vargas has hardly raised any funds nor secured many endorsements, and the campaign is not likely to move forward past the Primary Election.
