- Background:
Gloria is a former CA State Senator and Assemblymember, serving as a Democrat in the Legislature from 1998-2010 and changed her political affiliation to the Republican Party in 2024, citing “the Democratic Party’s abandonment of working-class families and parental rights.”
In her educational advocacy, she has focused on “parents rights”, particularly when it comes to low-performing schools. In this vein, she has also expressed her opposition to trans girls competing in girls’ sports.
