Office: Governor
Ramsey Robinson
- Political Party:
Peace and Freedom
- Ballot Designation:
School Social Worker
- Law Enforcement Contributions:
None as of 4/15/26
- Background:
Ramsey Robinson is a social worker and socialist activist who has led protests against police brutality and prison slavery.
- Public Safety Platform:
While Robinson does not have a public safety platform on his campaign website, he does advocate for many policies in alignment with our own IJ Action Policy Platform, such as supporting universal healthcare, expanding social services, and opposing deportations.
He does specifically call out anti-Black racism in California, stating that he supports reparations and would, if elected as Governor, establish a “State Department of Anti-Discrimination.” Additionally, he calls for ending the “Militarization of Police”, stating as his position: “No cop cities. No state or local participation in the federal 1033 Program, which floods our police departments with military weapons. Place departments under community control. End stop-and-frisk practices.”
While Robinson is clearly the most aligned with IJ Action’s values, we unfortunately do not recommend him in the race for Governor due to the very low likelihood that he would advance to the General Election and the serious concern that two incredibly harmful candidates could potentially finish in the top two of the Primary.
