Political Party:
Democrat
Ballot Designation:
County Supervisor
Law Enforcement Contributions: None as of 9/16/26
Background:
Jaron Brandon is currently a member of the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors, where he has served since 2019. Prior to joining the Board, he was an editorial manager at a software company.
Public Safety Platform:
On his campaign website, Brandon touts his record of dramatically increasing the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department budget and re-establishing a local narcotics unit which “has obtained over 30 felony convictions have been obtained against drug dealers and producers”. He also takes credit for “Shutting down all long-standing illegal encampments around his district one by one, which had allowed drug use, fire risk, and economic distress in main street areas.”
While his track record as Supervisor is a little concerning, Brandon does not express the same extreme tough-on-crime rhetoric as his opponent and has so far not received any campaign contributions from law enforcement. For those reasons, IJ Action recommends voters support Jaron Brandon for Senate.

On public safety, Duarte expresses extreme right-wing views, “Crime is OUT OF CONTROL thanks to liberal soft-on-crime policies. Alexandra will fight for more cops, harsher sentences, and more prosecutions to lock up criminals…” and “Sanctuary state policies are getting Americans killed. It’s time to support President Trump’s Wall, end sanctuary state policies, and get criminal illegals off our streets.”
