Public Safety Platform:
In her endorsement questionnaire, Sharp-Collins outlines support for abolishing the death penalty and repealing the Three Strikes law, and fully funding unarmed crisis responders.
Sharp-Collins references public safety on her campaign website when she writes, “Be a leader in the fight against gun violence; get illegal guns off the streets, and champion legislation that addresses systemic issues contributing to gun violence so every Californian, regardless of race or gender, will feel safe in every community.”
Her website also includes the following: “Support policies that address racial and gender inequities and promote social justice, and always protect the right to vote, women’s health care and reproductive freedoms, and our civil rights.” She is endorsed by many state elected officials, including outgoing Assemblymember Akilah Weber, the CA Democratic Party, and several labor and social justice organizations.
Because of her vocal support for justice reform and due to the fact that her opponent is strongly supported by law enforcement, IJ Action proudly endorses LaShae Sharp-Collins for Assembly.
