Nobriga is a retired businesswoman and first-time candidate.
Nobriga is a far-right candidate who describes herself as “The REAL conservative”. Her platform outlines the following priorities on public safety: “Fight against child-trafficking and to introduce laws to put traffickers in prison for life--no possibility of parole! Protect our borders and reallocate funds from the IRS to pay for real security and finish the wall!” Since both candidates in this race are extremely tough-on-crime, IJ Action has no recommendation in the AD 9 race.
Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry was first elected to the State Assembly in 2016, and prior to that was the first woman Mayor of the small town of Winters, California. She is currently the Majority Leader of the Assembly.
Tangipa is Field Representative for Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig, and also works in private real estate. He is a first-time candidate with the endorsement of outgoing term-limited Assemblymember Jim Patterson.
Middleton is an elected official on the Citrus Heights City Council, and former CEO for the American Petroleum and Convenience Store Association – a lobbying group that represented gas stations and convenience stores.
