Ellis is a former law enforcement official and current doctoral student in Psychology. According to his campaign bio, he is “...on the Board of Directors for a successful Restorative Justice non-profit organization based out of CDCR, and [has] firsthand experience in the successes of well-organized and data driven non-profit organizations on crime and harm reduction.”
Ellis’s public safety platform outlines the following: “My time in Law Enforcement, Legal Consulting, and Non-Profit work have provided first-hand knowledge and insight into the Legal System, making me a huge proponent in the Public Safety and the Rule of Law. Legislation in this State has put the public in harm’s way and benefited criminals at the expense of public safety and security. Decriminalization and Bail Reform, along with overly restrictive and unconstitutional attempts at public disarmament have negatively impacted businesses, law enforcement morale, and the safety and security of law-abiding citizens.”
