Michelle organizes to reinvest dollars away from incarceration and into community-based systems of care in Los Angeles County. Her abolition advocacy was born from facilitating reentry programming for women incarcerated in Ohio and ignited while volunteering for a TGI led org providing resources to Queer folks incarcerated in California prisons. Michelle advocates for legislation to dismantle the carceral system as a member of Initiate Justice as well as ending the Life Without Parole Sentence as a member of the Drop LWOP Coalition. Michelle also serves on the board of the SF LGBT Center. When she’s not organizing, Michelle is grounding her spirit at the beach.
