Jay Hockley is a graduate of the Institute of Impacted Leaders (Fresno 2021 cohort). As an IJ Outside Organizer, he is committed to community service and the abolition of the marginalization of BIPOC. Jay began his work with Initiate Justice while incarcerated: as a former Inside Organizer, he helped lead campaigns inside of state prison; advised other incarcerated people on organizational changes, state legislation, and CDCR policy updates. He was also responsible for sharing IJ action items and organizing inside members to act. Jay has a Master’s Degree in Social Justice and Community Organizing (SJOC).
